Lightning API · Live Data
Every strike, every state, since day one.
All-time lightning strikes recorded by state, from the same historical database every Lightning API plan queries against. Updated continuously in near real-time — not a one-time snapshot.
We just extended live coverage to the Pacific, reaching Hawaii and Alaska and improving detection accuracy across the West Coast and Mountain states. Totals for Hawaii and Alaska will build up over time as strikes occur there. Starting at zero isn't a bug.

Totals use rectangular state-boundary approximations, so a small number of border-adjacent strikes may be attributed to a neighboring state. Want this level of detail for your own use case? See plans →
